"Spazio-Tempo"
A new museum for Ancona
It opens tomorrow afternoon in Ancona a new mumeum
area called "Spazio-Tempo", in Valle Miano 5 street. Despite the
smallness of the space, the new structure, fruit of a cultural project
of Tiziano Cossignani, deep expert of this subject, proposes an
unbelievable collection of masks and finds of the African culture and an
impressive bronzes collection of Benin.
There are more than thousand objects introduced in a space-laboratory to
do envy to the Pigorini Museum in Rome and to the Branly Museum in
Paris.
Near to "Dan" masks appear "Yoruba" fetishes, protective dolls from
Camerun and Nigeria, throwing knives of Congo, ritual objects of Low
Congo and from the Bamun etnies, Bameleché, Dogon, Senufo, Bambara, Sogo
and so on..
The initiative is born with the support of the Museum of Malacology of
Cupra Marittima.
For the opening ceremony the painter from Pescara Ida Garribba
introduces thirty recent works.
Close to the museum exibition there is a naturalistic laboratory with
butterflies, bugs and shells.
